Request for OnGuardForThee

Tbh if someone else has taken over that is way more optimal because this would be my first time but I miss that sub and im sad to see it closed here

Ideally if it were opened to me I would just immediately recruit a couple more people just to get it going but we need our canadian shitposting and memeing in canada back again :(

But I also can put it in writing that if I suck I will lock it again

Sure we can add you on there. I see there's another post with a pending request, did you want to work together on the community @[email protected] ?

You can totally have the community and build it up, but for some context on why it isn't active currently:

From memory, the r/onguardforthee mods set up the community here during the API migration, but did not have the capacity to keep it going alongside the subreddit. Since [email protected] covers much of the same content, and we don't have the history that r/canada and r/onguardforthee went through, there hasn't been that much demand for that community. We also have some existing communities that fulfill the sub-niches, such as [email protected] for memes or communities like [email protected] for political party specific content. You can see the sidebar in [email protected] for a list of those.

You're welcome to take over the community and build it in a way that makes sense to you. If you wanted a connection to the subreddit (ex. sister communities), we might be able to put you in contact with the subreddit mods

I would actually love that and I do believe @[email protected] is still interested and I would be more than happy to have them do it as well as they may have more experience

Thank you!! So what do we do next?

I have added both of your accounts as moderators to the community, and you should have access to the community settings now. :) Please feel free to reach out if you have any issues!

Also tagging @[email protected]

I'll see about getting in contact with the subreddit mods sometime soon.

On an unrelated point, I love the usernames 😄
