Belgium produces smallest proportion of renewable energy in EU
In 2025, renewable energy accounted for more than a quarter (26.2 per cent) of the final energy consumption in the European Union. This data comes from the European statistical office Eurostat. Belgium ranks at the very bottom, with only half that percentage.

I suppose it doesn’t help that when people install their own solar panels, the injection rate in Brussels is a small fraction of the consumption rate. IIRC, I think I pay around 30 ¢€ per kWh. If I injected energy from PVs, I would get 2 ¢€ per kWh.
