I wonder how they’ll make the setting fit in 2027’s culture
That is the same question that was around my gaming table today.
Were people playing Dark Sun like all the bad stuff was actually ok? Like this setting finally let you enslave people rather than slavers being the antagonists it was inherently cool to murder?
I'm not sure we ever even had a defiler in our parties. Certainly no one played an active servant of the local BBEG.
I guess it depends on your player base.
The settings though his on par with ravenloft in terms of world darkness. Slavery is one thing but in general there is just no hope which makes it darker than most beside ravenloft in my opinion.
