Those look like mock strawberries. I've heard they don't taste too good.
They look like mock strawberries to me because the seeds project out rather than being in a dimple.
Mock strawberries taste very watery. Not necessarily gross, but not really desirable either.
Kind of like watery foam
vesca's seeds grow out, virginiania's are dimpled.

yah, mock strawberries, in my experience, don't get that big.
i've never had the vesca, but i grow virginiania, and while small, they are very delicious. vesca is very similar, from my understanding.
If they start peeing in a box and begging for food, then they're domesticated.

Depends on what they do in their spare time.
We call them "Smultron" in Sweden and they are just what strawberries where before cultivation. My garden is full of them.
I've got a volunteer strawberry plant exactly like this that just popped up in one of my pots. Really tasty little berries, too; I thought at first I had somehow ended up with an alpine strawberry, but I believe it's just a wild strawberry (as opposed to flavorless mock strawberries sometimes mistakenly called wild strawberries.) Been bearing fruit continuously for a few months, too. Currently trying to get some seeds to grow hydroponically, because I could go for this year round.
Edit: in researching, it seems like alpine strawberries may just be wild woodland strawberries in a fancier hat, so there may not be an appreciable distinction.

Are they everbearing strawberries? I have a few of them. They produce really small ones like that but last all summer.
Is that a thing? How do they do indoors? I could go for a random strawberry throughout the year.

Honestly, looking at those makes me crave a taste! Strawberries aren't widely grown here in Nigeria anyway; they can pretty much only be grown up in Plateau State (Jos) where the weather is cooler. I'd love to try growing some in a pot too if I could.
