Incredibly bad luck in CK2

Just thought I'd share a funny run of bad luck I'm having. Playing a CK2 game with my friend, I started as the Duke of Mumu and have slowly been expanding my domain so I can create the Kingdom of Ireland. For about four generations now, every character I've played has lived long enough to have a son, then dies around 20/21. I keep having to start back over as a 1 year old just when I get things rolling again. I've managed to hold everything together and even improve my holdings and conquer a few more provinces but man I've never had such a string of bad luck! As a result of all this, my dynasty is not large at all, with just one distant male relative I gave a county too back when he was my brother. My great-aunt is still alive and like 50 because of how crazy all the generations are. Oh and considering I've managed to marry into the Scottish, Danish, and English royalty through time and then my young widows went home and married someone else, I've got half-brothers not of my dynasty all over. It's been a wild and fun ride so far and I'm curious to see how long I can keep this up!

My friend is hosting so I don't remember exactly, I know we have some of the expansions enabled. I'll have to check next time we play.

I love CKII. I got it for my brother a few years ago and played it with him. Was reminded that the base game is VERY different than playing with DLC in many areas.
