Youtuber "Brad is Brad" creates a custom controller for Subnautica using an exercise bike and an Arduino so that he has to pedal the bike in order to swim in the game.

This would be even cooler hooked up to treadmill so you could literally speed run it!

I don't want to agree because I like biking, but damn if "literally speed run" isn't clever.

Now I wanna see a Super Mario literal run with jumping off the treadmill being jumps in game.

Let's make gamers get fit if they want high score. Only thing I seen that comes close to that is like the rhythm dancing games. I've seen some of the people REALLY into those and wow do they have muscles and are fit.

But you don't really control a treadmill - it sets a pace and you follow. It's not like you can run faster and it will keep up, it's the other way around.

The inertia would be tricky, but maybe with some sensors and strong motors it could be done.

Yeah but you modify the treadmill to work like that. I'm just picturing like a gym of gamers all competing in some race like across the ocean of subnautica. Faster you run, faster you swim, can you reach the goal the fastest?
