Morning all.

Gym

Shopping

And it's funny. When you've got someone coming over, how you realise you've been living poorly and need to scramble to clean the house.

"why yes, I am in fact a civilised human. Why do you ask?"

And starting the weight cut this week. Hello chicken and tuna my old friends :/

I literally cannot empathise with this complaint. Jaffles man. Jaffles. Get those little lemon pepper ones, they're godly in jaffles. Shredded sammioch tuna straight from the tin or a sammich. Wrapped in filo and baked juuust right. Nicoise. Give me them all

I usually get chilli tuna, frozen veg, some butter. Admittedly not glamorous but damn it tastes good lol

tuna wrapped in filo baked and served with lashings of lemon juice numnumnum

I share with sammy! Max is just a black hole and Cerys is still under diet control.

I've got a bag of different weight clothes that I've been reclaiming and replacing with my big clothes.

I tried on some pants I had from years ago, they fit again. ๐Ÿ‘ But I still have to lose at least another 10 kilos, at least.

and I think with not being able to eat dairy and some other foods I won't so easily put the weight back on.

I have managed to get an excessive number of bananas this week, and they are all ripe now. This goes way beyond 'make a cake' quantities, I think I'll need to freeze some for later.

Frozen bananas work in smoothies. Sliced cake freezes well too. Hummingbird cake is a nice alternative to plain banana bread. If desperate take excess cake to work and leave in kitchen for some friendship points.

2

I am already thinking of doing some cake for work. You can use banana for the icing as well - just beat the banana with icing sugar and some lemon, and it gives a banana-flavoured soft icing.

The other thing I use banana in is porridge, it mixes through and adds flavour and sweetness. I'm not a fan of smoothies though, so limited use there. I might put bananas and custard on the menu for dessert tonight too.

10 kilos, I suddenly feel like I have barely any bananas at all!

I got a fruit & veg box from Funky Foods which had a higher than normal amount of bananas in it, plus I ordered some extra bananas because I ate them all really quickly last month. So I have nearly 20 bananas all to myself, which is too many for one person but nowhere near rum quantities, apparently.

FIFTEEN fucking years

THAT IS TOO LONG but not long enough :) It's an uphill battle..

If it wasn't for this random YouTube video talking about fx pedals I wouldn't have gone and done some experimention lol

For the record it goes:

Guitar pickups set to middle position.

Overdrive to amp

In the fx loop:

Harmonic tremolo, wave set to saw up going into a space echo 1/4 note division, then into a basic reverb with mod turned up and predelay set to 10ms.

Pick inverted 2 note chords. Loop, then put guitar pickup into bridge position and tremolo pick single notes over the top.

Absolute heaven!!!!!

I am now listening to Ithaca audio book by Claire North. Nice to hear a story at last from the women's point of view , women's stories have been neglected, or so the story teller tells us.

This book reminds me of Elektra and also The Trojan Women by Euripides.

The Trojan Women is such an amazing play. It was so political, so powerful when it was first staged it nearly caused riots.

( seriously, I'm only one hour in, i find it a bit cringy )

John le Carre biography by Sissman

the biography truly conveys the real character of Cornwall, his real life and his writing

he is boring, his world view is surprisingly naive, ( took him 30 years to find out sometimes witnesses and sources lie!), he has sympathy but no empathy, not patriotic or social ( he thought he shouldn't have to pay taxes just because he doesn't want to ) , can't write women, but he can write a good "what happens" next book, people would send him ideas for his books , his spy stories are as accurate as james bond books but are less fun and more respected because he doesn't/can't write erotica

after I read a le Carre I do not know more about the world or human nature, they are what Greene would call entertainments

i respect he did the sit down work and the structure is often technically very good.

I did like The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and The Constant Gardener movies, I think sometimes the movies are better than the books. Burton made that movie, it would have been awful without him ( yet Carre hated him and the performance ) just like Fiennes made the Gardner movie.

3 hobbits for biography ( it was way too long )

Rice and beans in nachos for lunch. Had a nap. Still too full for a post nap snack

Any ideas where I could get an Elmer board book in the city (like an independent book store). I've had a Google but I suspect the places I'm looking for don't necessarily have a fulsome catalogue listed online.

2

I have had an efficient afternoon. Got around to hemming a couple of pairs of pants I've been meaning to do for months, and repaired a couple of pairs that had rips in the legs. Plus repaired a tear in one of my sheets.
