This is interesting because I've found Eastern Europeans and Russians to be less racist to South Asians overall possibly due to geographic proximity (relative to Western Europeans who in modern history have seen themselves as racially superior). Attitudes towards black people could definitely be better though.

This is the most polite form of balkan racism that exists.

For real I once saw someone throw a glass beer bottle at a black guy

wym this was the norm, anti-racism is only a recent thing in the last hundred years and mainly white people afaik

Something being the norm and something being good are two different pairs of shoes, that's not hard to grasp, right? Or should we go back to having slavery since that used to be the norm?

I didn't say anything about it being good or bad, just that humanity can't really be lost if it was always like this

Discrimination based on X/Y/Z has been around and will be around forever

Of course. But our concept of racism is largely a product of colonialism.

It does contribute for sure but I’m arguing in group/out group hostility is part of being human, we have always done it from our cave man days and will always do it

humanity cannot be lost based on something it has always done

well we’re referring to humanity being lost right? so on a human timescale it’s been around a long time

The comment about being mistaken for romani is probably correct. But in that scenario I do not understand why everyone would get back into water while he was on shore. It makes no sense. I suspect OP is fake, possibly gay.

Normally, if you see an Indian-looking fellow in the Balkans, they're probably Romani.

But then, wouldn't a balkan person be more concerned with their wallet being stolen? Idk, a strange-looking person being the only one around the valuables while everyone else swims sounds weird.

I mean, luckily, this is all fake anyways, but the fan fiction used to be more believable

Don't be looking for reason in racism. I grew up in Eastern Europe and truth be told, I can't claim to be free of it myself. The story rings believable to me...

All I am saying is, my racist ass would be more concerned with the strange looking man stealing my wallet and phone than somehow magically contaminate me with his dark skin

4

Which is not a stereotype for Indians in the Balkans.
