Of course the players can say what they want, nobody is saying they can't. It just so happens that they are voluntary members of an organization that has a set of rules which is not related to the US constitution.

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) should face sanctions for this as FIFA’s rules are unequivocal about political messaging: It's not allowed, period.
Does awarding a man-baby president a made-up peace prize count as political messaging?
It should, but FIFA makes the rules for the leagues and its players, not for themselves.
FIFA has no integrity and of course they can't police themselves. That doesn't mean it's appropriate to cash in.
It's literally just a poster board sign.
