We've all run red lights. No one was going to hold this loser's feet to the fire if he just paid the ticket.
If he was going to be corrupt and abuse his power he should have done it for something less forgiveable. Fucking moron. Just shows how corrupt he is. Willing to be corrupt for literally anything.
Power corrupts. The longer they're in power, the more power they have, and the more times they get away with abusing it, the worse it gets.
This is why we need term limits for Congress. It's not about age, it's about how long they stay in office. Age doesn't corrupt, power does. We need term limits for Congress so corrupt politicians can't stay entrenched.
Yeah, the claims that he was just identifying who he was in other places I have seen this overlook the obvious reason why this is abusing his power.
He says his name to cut off the officer saying the reason for the stop, not identifying himself like any other driver.
The inflection in his voice has strong "do you know who I am energy".
The officer's reaction makes it clear they are in fear of retaliation because they don't wrap up the stop like they would with the average person by giving them a kind of verbal or written warning and saying not to do it again. The officer just ends the stop immediately and walks away because they know how shitheads like Joe Lombardo react to being held accountable by those they see as beneath them.
"Joseph Michael Lombardo (/ləmˈbɑːrdoʊ/ ləm-BAR-doh;[1] born November 8, 1962) is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving since 2023 as the 31st governor of Nevada. From 2015 to 2023, he was the 17th sheriff of Clark County, capping a 34-year career in law enforcement.[2][3][4] Lombardo is a member of the Republican Party."
Edit: nevermind just the beginning. I love the cops sad response of "I'm aware" probably thinking yeah this is harder on me than you and I'm the one who does NOT want to be here more than you. So uncomfortable. I hope he gets backlash for it. They both should since the cop should have never stopped pursuing him.

You can even hear it in the officer's voice as he mutters "Wow." When opening the door to his cruiser.
