So it turns out lightweight mesh is an absolute nightmare to cut and sew. I ripped up my attempt at an illusion neckline shirt in frustration.

I still want to make an illusion neckline shirt. They're hella cute and sometimes I wanna wear something that isn't a plain t-shirt, y'know? So my next attempt will involve attempting to starch the absolute fuck out of the mesh before cutting it. I've never starched fabric, let alone for this purpose, so I guess I'll see how it goes.

Plan C if this doesn't work is to try to find fabric that's both very sheer and not at all stretchy. I have the mesh; I don't want to do that.

Oh, wow, I super admire that you make your own clothes! That's so cool! I would love to make my own clothes. I know how to sew and use a machine. It's just having the time and or the energy. Especially as my body is changing as I'm aging, I used to be able to throw anything on from the racks and it fit, now I'm lucky if I find one thing in multiple stores. I've now noticed how they all seem to cater to one body type. What other things do you make?

Whenever I feel the urge to be mean to someone on the internet I just block them instead. They don't need someone saying mean things to them and I don't need to go through the cycle of anger/guilt that I will feel. I don't think blocking is a mean thing. I think of it as choosing to avoid conflict.

I'm not perfect and am sometimes still mean, but just something that can be considered.

That's a really kind philosophy. I usually just try and scroll on, but I might adopt your way. That seems to be kind to yourself, as well, because you aren't seeing the people who cause anger again. Clever, I like it!

Yeah! I wanted to share so that people don't feel bad about blocking. It doesn't mean the person you are blocking is bad or not worth hearing. I block communities that are too depressing as well.

Some people on lemmy might say you are silencing people but I don't invite annoying strangers into my home so I'm not stressed about it.

Wednesday started very weakly, I got bad panic attack first time in ages. Luckily it has been a while from the last time, but it kinda makes it feel worse.. Anyways I was able to push through and actually finally got around in selling old unused books, games and DVDs. I collect physical media so it is pretty good to let the unused stuff go. I priced them very low and a bunch got sold already! Feeling very happy about this, the bad morning doesn't matter. :) The money will go to my next PC.. Looking forward to that too. Is alright.

I had a very stressful appt today, but I made it through. Took my SW with me to the appt. Glad it’s over

I mixed up the date for my appointment at the doctor and didn't realize until I woke up and saw reminder on my phone. Fortunately I got up early enough to have a quick shower and rush out. Its only a 5min walk so I made it on time. Then they were late to call me in anyway so it was fine anyway.
