Someone isn't doing something right. There's no way signal chats are going to be terabytes in size.
Or maybe the gubmint is lying. Can you imagine?
If you're not using disappearing messages, I don't know what's wrong with you.
In general, data is nothing but a toxic sludge that it's best to get rid of as fast as possible.
By enabling things like disappearing messages, you at least keep your data footprint down to the absolute most recent things.
