It's Friday 07/10/2026. Hey, What's Going On!

My father in-law got me a Weber Kettle grill as an early birthday present. I assembled it yesterday and plan on using it today for some burgers. It's being baptized by a thunderstorm right now.

Lana and Hazel snuggling with me.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

No, just a random one. I have never been to IKEA, even though we have one here. I keep meaning to go to try the swedish meatballs.

Looks like the classic blue IKEA polar blanket.

Try the cheese cake at IKEA if you're into that! Also definitely pick up their cinnamon buns!

I started a new med (fluoxetine) and my executive functioning has been a LOT better. I’ve only been on it a few weeks but I am already noticing such a huge difference. I’ve been cooking, cleaning, exercising. Is this what the normies do??

more power to you! When I tried Prozac, it just made me grind my teeth constantly, didn't do squat for my mood and I stopped taking it. I'm glad it works for someone out there.

Yeah I have no doubt it’s not a permanent thing. I’m just enjoying it while it lasts

Kitten only wanted to whine. She stopped but now she's sulky. She was given a small dab of cream cheese and is now snoozing.

Storm, the tomatoes survived

Well

Some of the leaves are fucked from the 100+ heat but oh well.

Going to buy weed and try and plant some jalapeños outside today. Then play Stonetop.

I got a small(It's about a 15cm square) dehumidifier, I don't expect it to help much with the heatwave but I can see results of it in the collection tank already after only being on for a few hours.

I've spoken twice since I last mentioned the no speaking so that's an improvement.

Ironically, they may not hire you as you could be considered "overqualified". The concern is supposedly that you may get bored and leave, or rebel against management lol.

I love my charcoal grill. I watched a lot of Good Eats as a kid, and Alton Brown's YouTube channel as an adult. Natural chunk charcoal > briquettes. A charcoal chimney is great for starting it.

He likes to put cooking oil on newspaper or butcher paper to light the chimney. Personally since I have a natural gas stove top, I just put the chimney on our biggest burner on high for like a minute. Yes, there's technically a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning fron burning charcoal indoors, but I only do it long enough to light it and I usually open a window. It makes the drove a bit messy but its not terrible.

I love grilling a whole pack of burgers, a couoke packs of hot dogs, and like 5lbs of chicken breast or pork loin or something. Then we freeze some ans refrigerate some- its like a partial meal prep fkr the next 2 weeks where the entree just needs reheated and we can make sides as-needed.

Natural chunk charcoal > briquettes

100% And they make fun noises when they expand from the heat.
