'Show all comments' and 'show context' are identical. Why even have both?

When viewing a limited thread of comment's (for example, clicking on a comment from my history) There are two buttons at the top of the comments: 'Show context' (which should just show the next comment up the chain) And 'show all comments'

Both of these buttons have done exactly the same thing for the entire time I've used this app (around a year now): they both show the next comment up the chain.

You have to tap either button several times to get to the full list of comments. ie, show all comments. It doesn't matter which of the two you use, they both only show the next comment and not the full thread.

I get this too, I've always assumed it was a problem with the "show all comments" button not working as intended.

Yeah. The app is not really actively developed.

Yeah, a few simple and/or important bug fixes. Other bugs, like RTL characters in display names, or images not showing up, have gone unfixed for months or years.

Odd, I don't have this behaviour - but I also only use the show context when I get an inbox notification and am trying to figure out what this person is saying about my month old comment

'Show all comments' actually brings you to the full list of comments? Even when you're viewing a single comment a few layers deep?

Huh, I was sure that it did last time I used it, but I just used inbox to track down some deep nested comments and no, no it does not. It does the same thing as show context, just as you described.
