"It never trickles down": Bernie Sanders hits out at Microsoft over mass layoffs and console price rises

He cited the fact that Microsoft made $101 billion in profits, got a $12.5 billion tax break from Trump & paid its CEO $96 million.

Corporate tax breaks don't create jobs. Real change needs to happen to balance this wealth inequality.

It never trickles down is absolutely false.

It constantly trickles down.... The piss that is. They're always pissing on us.

Buddy of mine is a lead dev on Minecraft at MS. He said a dude 7 years his senior and responsible for some highly critical shit was let go. The morale is in the gutter, of course.

As a society we've made huge gains in productivity. But instead of those gains being invested in society as a whole or we all simply working less, all of those gains have gone to the 1% and we all end up working more, not less.

That's why I get so upset when people say AI will do all of our work and we won't need to work anymore. Beside the fact that's total BS, it hasn't worked that way for a very long time, what will change now?

I've had a conversation with several coworkers trying to get them to connect the dots between "you get paid by the hour" - "if you produce more per hour, you don't get paid more" - "the owners keep the profits" - "they'll never let you just work less"

I have similar conversations with coworkers that end with "and that's why we all ought to start working less".

Shit flows downhill.

Money flows uphill, somehow defying physics. You can't explain that, you just need to accept it.

/fucking sarcasm

Because shit is real. Money is theoretical. Sure, we have physical representations of the concept, but the value is all in the head.

Oh, there is something that always trickles down from the rich. It's called "shit".

You reached the end
