Users on lemmy that ask questions that can be answered in the top 3 results on Google are lazy and add nothing to conversations

It is a tale as old as time.

Is this thing still on Reddit? If so, tell me about it

Laziness. How about a TIL or FYI post in the community one was going to ask the easily answered question? Ya know, for others who may be wondering the same thing? Adding to the discourse of a community? Actually contributing something?

Naw. I’m going to have someone else do it for me. Can you back that up with studies or other primary sources? I’m having a hard time believing you.

Thaaaaanks!

Depending on the topic, it can be difficult to find good answers for some things that aren't AI slop, so I could see people asking here instead to get a real human answer.

I agree some of the time. It's like people don't know how to use a search bar. It's not rocket science, you type the words you're interested in and go.

Now, is the question in a question community, like no stupid questions? Search for it first, lazy ass.
Actually, no stupid questions here does not work. It's filled with ridiculous spam "questions" that don't have any thought behind them.

I saw a post where someone asked about what is or is not on Reddit. “Thing I want to know +reddit”, first 5 results. Laziness.

It's really just the one dude inundating asklemmy with questions that are easily googlable. He asked if there was a way to make a recovery USB today. That shit has been documented in detail 100 million times since the 90s.

I'd block don, but he occasionally does ask a banger.

He literally writes down a list of useless questions, and then spams the comm with them. I hate it, it makes the entire idea useless.

Yes, some stuff is good for fodder for discussion and questions or yo get nuance. A bunch is just engagement bait or laziness.

I wonder if partly AI chat ots make conversational questioning more nor all without people considering whether it is coming from a computer or a person.

I reckon its that, almost no activity or 90% sex related questions. Google has also become mostly garbage results now too.
