*That's the nostalgia-gland. I just made it up, tell your friends.

The RLC trans arc was so good. The conversation Mae has with her personified subconscious was so earnest and, for lack of a better word, real. Beautiful way of depicting the trans experience of denial and self-acceptance.

I honestly like Mae, been following Real Life since the first year, but she has a horrible update schedule. XD

I know, right?

Then again she's not the only one.

MegaTokyo is still ongoing from its beginnings in 2000, although Fred appears to struggle with life events surrounding his partner and updates are sparse as a result: https://megatokyo.com/

EGS started in 2002 and is still going strong today: https://www.egscomics.com/

I'm sure there are others, but those are some I have been following since the beginning.

And then there's GPF which finally finished its run late last year after starting in 1998, and is now doing an archive rerun: https://www.gpf-comics.com/

Oh that’s so cool to know, these little slices of old internet culture still live on.

MegaTokyo made me type like a 1337 h4x0r for years on end.

That’s not the joke though. The joke is the Lesbian agenda person but the actual story is newly transitioned women feeling uncomfortable expressing their sexuality.

but it's true. For some reason, many sapphics really do tend to move in very quickly once they do actually get together. It's not exactly a good thing, so making jokes about it helps people take those considerations into account more than if we never talked about it. Many in-jokes from minoritized communities serve a similar purpose in my experience. They aren't absolute rules of behavior, but common trends that it helps to be aware of. Most importantly, they're not a stereotype applied to us by bigots, but jokes we make at our own expense.

Besides, it's only the cherry on top of the main punchline. The real joke is that there is a lesbian cabal, but they're really laid back and just there to foster community.
