Saw this in the parking lot as we were leaving the theater (Supergirl).
Looks like $150k+ and all six wheels drive. From 480hp to 800hp motor options. I would love to hear and see this thing run. This one has the truck bed armor paint option which is wild to see in person. One part really tough one part sparkly.

Would be a shame if it was a gasoline vehicle. A real apocalypse vehicle has no computer aka is impervious to an EMP and can run on many types of fuel, including cooking oil, paint thinner, kerosene, and so on. Now something like that will legitimately get you through the apocalypse. Even better if you can mechanically start the vehicle so it doesn't need a battery.
EMP doesn't permanently damage vehicle electronics - both Mythbusters and Top Gear showed cars being hit by direct lightning strikes which is orders of magnitude greater current loads. The cars stopped, but restarted easily.
Modern diesels are worse than modern gas for electronic controls bullshit - they stop working over the littlest thing - this is how they achieve their fuel economy and emissions. (So would still be affected by EMP too).
That said, an older diesel using a mechanical timing pump is what you want. They run forever and can tolerate poor fuels.
An apocalypse vehicle also doesn't need hundreds of horsepower. Better if its got enough, and the rest goes towards efficiency/longevity/resilience etc...

New diesels are programmed to not start once they run out of Diesel Exhaust Fluid. What you'd need is a mechanical pump and a manual transmission. Then you don't even need electricity.
I would go a step further and say minimal complexity with very common parts. Another person mentioned the Land Cruiser 70 Series. That's far more likely to work for you after the apocalypse than this vanity vehicle.
But I also like the vehicle because I'm a sucker for enthusiast vehicles of all kinds. This is more for show than actual utility. Like the trucks with giant lift kits, huge skinny street tires, and under body lighting.
It's the 2020s version of a lowrider from the 90s hitting switches as it bounces to the music. Cool style, limited utility.
Id rather my apocalypse vehice not be 100% dependant on a fuel that I can't manufacture that also goes bad in a few months.

I dont have enough children, so I will have to go with a wood gas generator or solar panels to charge an E-bike.
