Subjectivity makes EVERYONE think they are realists.

Why would anyone believe anything that they don't think is real?

That's essentially what I'm saying, yeah. Its the relationship a "realistic" person has with ideas held/shared by an "idealistic". That's what gives the "realist" the idea that they must just be a pessimist.

I'm saying there's no such thing as a Realist.

That's a bullshit term that people only use to say "Any opinion that differs from mine is not 'realistic'".

Ohhhh, in that case I completely disagree with your sentiment. We have different definitions of these terms. But that's fine. I equate the term realist with pragmatist.

Because it's comfortable or convenient. Take religious folks. If they REALLY thought there was an afterlife, they wouldn't bother with medicine or doctors. They'd be happy when people died because those people made it. The world would look very different if they thought it was real. But instead, they only believe that they believe, even if they know and act as if it's not real.
