I have a degree from UVU (where Kirk was shot.) There's a massive pedestrian bridge over the freeway right next to campus and I keep wondering how much trouble I'd get in for putting up a sign reading "send us more conservative pundits."

Lol you'd be in a lot of trouble if it led back to you. Even if you skated on real or imagined legal issues you'd take so much shit from randos. I'd laugh my ass off if I saw that sign tho

Seems like pretty clear-cut freedom of speech to me. Plus, you could plausibly claim that you weren't even referring to anyone getting killed -- just with Kirk's death, you now have a shortage of conservative pundits and need a replacement, so you want them to send you more.

Though, I suppose it could technically count as vandalism to put the sign up without permission?

Anyway, yeah. It's the randos you really need to worry about.

Probably not vandalism if easily removed.

As far as threats go, I think it is clear free speech (not specific to a person, no method, not against a particular group) and not worth fighting in court over (Utah will fight tooth and nail).

IANAL

Kirk is doing the same amount of self reflection and looking back on past predictions and claims that most conservatives do.

Charlie's death was a legit tragedy. Now that he's little more than a puddle of rotted mould, we'll never get to the bottom of just what the fuck went wrong with the proportions of his facial features. Motherfucker looked like an orangutan wearing the skin of a trophy hunter like some demented simian Hannibal Lecter.

Obvious jokes aside, hadn’t the pitch from republicans always been that they are (allegedly) outsiders who want to shake things up?

I don’t give Obama a pass because of his terror Tuesday drone strikes and Libya. But he definitely held the course, unlike every Republican. Ditto Biden.
