Forgot to get groceries today, and now the AQI (Air Quality Index) is above 100.
I can still go out of course, it's early enough, but with the AQI this high I'd want to wear a respirator. The only thing keeping me from going is how judgemental people are when they see something abnormal; like a guy walking down the street with half-face respirator.
*that meme where there's the guy standing alone in the corner and other are dancing: They don't know the government doesn't include data from the Copernicus satellite in it's AQI forcasts and it's actually really unhealthy out here right now.
I need to get eggs, as I haven't had protein yet today. Ahhh well, here it goes. o7
Dude, wear the respirator and give zero fucks what others think.
If they hassle you just say "I'm contagious."
If you wear the right style respirator people might think, "that is one cool looking person!"
will i have to beat the crap out of batman though
i like batman
I'm not going to say shit to you and you minding your own business in public but,
Is where you lost it.
You do you, idk your region or health, but not going outside without a resperator for the 8 or so days a year where it approaches that level isn't going to have a meaningful effect on life and is definitely overkill. It has nothing to do with not knowing.
There are no safe levels of pm 2.5, and at 100 or above the health effects are like living with a smoker. Every breath taken at these levels represents a high risk for cancer, heart disease, and pretty much every other respiratory illness we know of. So, it really does have an effect on life despite your willingness to ignore it. It's like not wearing sunscreen in the afternoon except there aren't as many systems to repair that particular type of damage. ...Do you also think wearing sunscreen everyday is overkill?
You do you, idk your region or health, but most places do not have seasons for pollution as it is almost a constant disease vector, it never really goes away, but it's prudent to take precautions when levels exceed ~50 or so. My city in particular usually has really bad air at night after ~10pm for some reason (often exceeding 70, it's 114 as of writing). Every day. Luckily it get's better during the afternoon, sometimes not though. I just don't want to die of lung cancer, or heart disease, or any other disease caused by shitty air quality. It's a painful, awful way to go.
The meme bit was me venting how my governments AQI shows today as "low risk" when it's seriously not. It has nothing to do with the ..."dancing people". Not really coherent, and I'm sorry my incoherent venting made you... angry or whatever.

God damn what a boring life to live when the line is drawn at being close to someone that smokes.
Definitely. Do you walk around outside white like zuckerberg while donning a half mask? Like its halloween in june? Oh boy.
