I am not young, and I may have heard about it before, but definitely have no strong memory of it. I suspect it was of similar popularity to one I do remember: web crawler.

HotBot started out in the 90s as a search engine, it was an AskJeeves competitor (top pic). I used it quite a lot until some point in the mid 2000s when I started using old school Google

Now it's a shitty bot website (middle pic), a fate worse than death

I'm pretty AI friendly, but for good use cases, open source and shuns shitty AI corpos like OpenAI

This is none of that, it's just a shitty generic model wrapper cash grab that puts OpenAI models front and center.
