But although these numbers are from Ukraine and could be propaganda, they have been mostly confirmed by independent sources like Pentagon and the institute for the study of war.

But yes the Russian assault on Ukraine was absolutely massive right from the beginning, where Russia tried to overwhelm Ukraine's defenses, and they tried to take Kiev and kidnap Zelenskyj.
The Russian plan was literally to take Ukraine in 3 weeks, which Russian media then arrogantly claimed they could do in only 3 days.
The war is also so massive that it is destroying the Russian economy. Putin had build reserves for a decade before the war, to prepare the economy and withstand sanctions. But that money is more than spent now.
Allegedly Ukraine took out a couple of boats in the Azov sea that aren't registered (yet). as part of the Ukrainian effort to isolate Crimea. The video from RFU news about it will be up on c/ukraine ASAP.
