I've been using the nicotine spray to quit smoking. It's been about 5 months.

I threw the spray away yesterday. This will be the first day in 27 years that I haven't fed an addiction.

Fuck yes.

Beautifying the studio. almost there surrounding the whole room.

Sound-wise does the diffusion thing well, is free, endless supply and looks pretty and not out of place too :)

First time trying Bravo apples. Better than gala or pink ladies I think. Might be my new favourite.

Growing up in Canada (and working in produce at a grocery store) we would get galas from NZ for half the year.

I've had NZ Galas here and the quality is crap compared to back home.

We get shafted with fresh produce here so badly. The good shit gets exported.

So annoying. And sometimes we pay more locally than the exported stuff costs overseas.

3

I have worked in food production for about 10 years.

When it comes to produce, the best stuff gets shipped to China for a fucking premium.

Then other places.

We get fifth best a lot of the time.

Apples especially. I had some top grade apples, Galas, that were going to Japan.

It's a different fruit.

2

Been getting the pre-pack of mini Bravos for a few weeks. Very nice thinly sliced with crunchy peanut butter. I've never really liked red apples but these are sweet and noy dry or floury at all.

Front beach lonny yesterday:

As a kid used to boogie board the backwash (reverse wave?). When it meets an incoming wave it launches you โฌ†๏ธ. In hindsight was pretty stupid (miss the wave and you hit the wall lol) but good times.

Some sleep, broken up and nightmaraey, but still. Then get awoken to the worst cat fight the boys have ever had. Luckily Vet was already booked for the puking. No great answers yet and also no awful ones seem likely. He'll have a raggedy ear and gooshy food only for the next few weeks. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Thanks. Expensive cute little buggers. Three shiny so far, so each evolve covered. More to give away would be bonus.

4

Yeah, I got my three and retreated indoors. Opened a couple of times at home but no more shiny.

Just bailed on going to a close friends kids party. Little one has a sore throat and temp but better with Panadol and there's a cold going round their family. I was looking forward to it because I haven't seen them for a while but I have so much stuff on don't want to risk getting sick. We have some stuff at work with hard deadlines and the buck stops with me. And thanks to my autoimmune/ general mid life stuffs when I get sick I'm brainfoggy and sick for weeks until things stabilise. I just don't want to risk it.

Still feel bad though. They said it was all fine but I feel like everyone will think I'm being an arsehole and a princess. I blame those stupid codral ads all my life.

5

Parents will underplay any sickness the child has so they don't disappoint. Staying away is the best thing you can do. Save yourself.

5
aussie.zone

Nah, if they're your friends they won't think you're an arsehole or princess. You're just looking after yourself and avoiding risks.

Those codral ads were heinous. No one should go to work sick like that, I thought we learned that from the pandemic lol

I've seen ads for panadol to relieve pain from sore throats

employers learnt NOTHING and they still give zero fucks, because they have suffer no consequences

4
aussie.zone

Pfft dumb af. Same with panadol for period pain. The ingredients are the same as generic.

I only buy generic ibuprofen, as I can't take panadol anymore. Same ingredients as brand name ibuprofen. Stupid af.

Painkillers are painkillers, regardless or what type of pain they advertise it for lol

4

not all tablets are the same

while the active ingredient is the same some have buffers as part of the tablet and this means it can be absorbed better in the stomach

4

nope, no to getting germs and illness

and no one should ever knowingly expose you ๐Ÿ˜

4

It's the right move and it happens. We always get a fraction of the expected turnout for the kids' birthday parties for the same reason.

We were going to go to a birthday party a while ago until one of the kids decided to throw up on three separate occasions when we were getting changed at swimming lessons. He seemed fine after but we decided to not go

The best kind. Well done.

I have a recipe for you. Spread some on toast or crumpets (with butter of course) then drizzle a tiny bit of honey on top. Trust me. Party in your mouth.

Brave given the weather. Take a snorkel. Preston Market was absolutely drenched this morning with rain.

It was great beer and wine last night but you still can't escape the beer/wine hangover.

I have to thank the kids for getting sick at the same time so we can have a cosy day inside

Wine hangovers are shocking. Getting up with a hangover to wrangle children is why I didn't drink for 13 years. I'm making up for lost time now.

4
aussie.zone

I think it's because of the sugar in wine, I find white wine to be more severe than red personally. It's different to a beer hangover for sure.

Spirits hangovers are also their own distinct thing too.

4

I knew it was going to be bad because we eked up having so much, but it was a good night out.

It's interesting how different alcohol hits, because I can have 2 litres of beer from the growler and be fine, but that's fresh beer straight from a brewery, no added sugar and preservative free

3

It's red that does me in. Histamines, sinus hell etc. Delicious, but no thank you (unless somebody want to make the three day coq au vin recipe I've always wanted to try)

3

Absolutely, it's a foul, foul hangover when you have different alcoholic beverages. Lasts for a few days too ๐Ÿ’€

3

That's what I've heard at least, and it makes sense. The body needs water to process alcohol, as well as sugar and the other preservatives, so it's a more severe hangover as the body tries to process and get rid of it.

Hydration is key. Glass of wine, glass of water, rinse and repeat. I've also heard to avoid a severe hangover to drink those hydralyte sachets before going out. I've never tried it, but my alcoholic mates swear by it ๐Ÿ˜‚

3

We're very lucky it's a slow day for everyone. Otherwise we would have been straight up to go to swimming this morning

3

It's a rainy day, trains aren't running on my line, shoes stolen so can't beach, I might sleep in a little more ๐Ÿ™‚

3

Not me window shopping on Picture Polish and seeing that everything I want comes to a total of almost $200 (I did add their nail art kit and magnet kit).

Save that to my cart and patiently wait to win the lotto ey
