In fourth grade, students would encounter Luke 14:7-11, a New Testament passage where Jesus says: “All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”

Very telling it should stop at verse 11. If I may, verses 12-14:

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

I feel bad for anyone who is stuck there and unable to pickup and leave that awful state. It was fun to visit, but if I had kids and was told were throwing mandatory bible anything at them I would be furious. I thought this was the party that wasnt supposed to be controlling your life. Sure seems to be a lot of unforgiving rules controlling peoples lives if you ask me.

All these "translations" are slowly being changed, not to reflect a more accurate translation, but to reflect agendas, since first written.

Anyway, I look forward to some bright esotericists teaching New Age Pardes.
