I wonder what criteria they are using for
distribution. Mine is set for the By September timeline so I’m happy with that. But from what I’ve seen of comments it doesn’t necessarily seem to be done in order of reservation necessarily.
People are whining and calling this a "disaster" as if Valve should have planned for a global hardware shortage. If anyone wishes they could sell these things as fast as possible, I'm sure it's Valve themselves. Personally, I appreciate the transparency and, while I was disappointed with the poorly thought out first attempt, this process is much better than just waiting for additional launch windows to randomly pop up and hoping to get lucky. The queue system is, imo, the best way to handle high demand items like this. I'm glad they're sticking with it.
I’m mostly sad about what this means for the pending Frame launch. This is a bit of a wet blanket on a time that should have been exciting for the VR community.
To keep it simple, we're showing one of three estimated order windows:
By September 2026
By December 2026
In 2027 (with additional information on specific timing to come)

Mine is for December, ordered on May 9th (I missed the May 4th window by a few minutes). I'm happy they announced it, so I can lower my expectations.
Right. I’m very glad they put out their expected timeline now.

I got my invitation to buy two days ago and they shipped today so I'm looking forward it trying it out.
You know, it's hard to tell if you're relating what happened or rage baiting.
