They still lose money if you zero out the R&D budget.
And these financials don’t really capture the circular investments, spending commitments, and shell companies holding debt that is part of the “ecosystem” of AI.
They couldn't stop training if they wanted to because they're constantly promising what LLM's will be able to do in the future. It's part of the grift. To stop would be to admit they are getting nowhere.
