So they're trying to stop him from calling a vote on a bill that would create a pathway to citizenship for foreign workers. It's xenophobes resorting to force because they're afraid they can't win democratically. Makes sense given how conservative Japan is and how low voter turnout is among the youth.

Also generational wealth. That will save you from working too

Ohhh I'd have made such a good trust fund baby! I feel I really missed my calling in life.

53
lemmy.world

Yeah. I would have been great at that too! Except I'd have 1 more dollar than you, and I'd be a total shitstain about it all day every day. Just constantly reminding you that I have more money than you do, until you go crazy and shoot me. That's when you find out I have a full body laser suit protection that disintegrates any threat that come into my personal space. Including bullets.

What? Do you NOT have the body laser 9000? Pssshhhh, bloody peasant! See? This is why I have more money than you!

Nah, I'd be that guy that had just enough money to make life look easy to all the wagies. I'd have some bs job, a nice but modest house. As those around me age prematurely from the stresses of capitalism I'll just be there, making a good life look effortless.

Every now and then a look of pity and derision will flash across my face. My friends won't consciously clock this. But subconsciously they'll know. Know that I'm hashtagged blessed, and they stay up at night thinking about how to keep them bills paid.

Far douchier than a laser suit.

There are probably loads of introverted trust fund babies that we never hear about. It's just the loud mouth ones that get all the attention

the only way to win that interaction, there, is to flash an even bigger creepy smile after the mask comes off.

Keep the arm around him, hold a long intense stoic stare followed with, "... put the mask back on," with the calmest menace you can muster

Dude has the figure and the body language, and obviously likes what he's doing. He's into it. You aren't gonna win that game. Because what if you smile at him and he smiles back for real?

Clearly you haven't been in the Marines. Gay chicken ends when either party admits defeat, or in the hospital from old age after many, many years of happy marriage.

Pink Ranger was hot. Kid, you could’ve done worse

Does that kid not know what weird techno spawn egg he came out of three hours ago?

Welcome to the future, fucko

You mean Amy Jo Johnson? Pretty sure she would be roughly 50 these days.

How many pink rangers have there been at this point? So many sentai shows in Japan, so many generations of Power Rangers in the US. Probably more I don't even know about. Have we broken 100 yet?

4

Assuming that there was 1 pink team member for every series, 49 super sentai and 30 power rangers. That's 79. And from the way things are going, it's going to remain 79 for a long while.

Obviously this doesn't take into account edge cases where pink team members span series or are replaced mid-series

4

This is not any of the pink Sentai (none of them has tits that bi a helmet like that) and the katakana text under the logo is also nonsense. Most generous interpretation is this is just a random cosplayer with a custom armor, because of the nonsense text I'd say this is AI but it's probably older than that, just a good old 'shop.

Also bottom left picture the pink "ponytail" or cloth thing is attached to the helmet, bottom right picture it's still attached to his hair/neck.

15

未来戦隊タイムレンジャー is the only sensible source of the kanji I'm able to find, but the pink ranger in that show doesn't look anything like this one. There's too many weird things going on with the text between images for it to not be AI.

3

Yeah the Mirai Buudo isn't the only weird text either. It's got a 〃 that looks out of place next to some character that looks like an L, and then wtf is シナクウン supposed to mean?

3

It might be in reference to Mirai Sentai Timeranger, but the costume doesn't seem right and the katakana is just Mirai Good, so... idk.

I found a slightly taller picture and found more text above that logo. An AI says Mirai Sentai Timeranger! I have a absolutely zero ability to know if that's correct.

Show us the picture and we'll ignore that you admit to trusting artificial idiots.

What is that picture. Why does he suddenly wear glasses? Why is he 15 years older? Like, the pose is the same, the resolution is higher and it has a lot of details that weren't in the original. All clear signs of AI hallucinations. Seems like you're not even aware of how much you trust AI.

Edit: also, it replaced the ナ character on the right edge with something that looks like ミ? If you needed more proof that it's AI.

3
FauxPseudoreply

There are multiple pictures of him with and without glasses.

I'd be willing to bet that the unmasked part is edited with a different head but the multiple photos with identifying micro details tell me it isn't AI. Not all things that aren't real are AI.

But the details keep changing in every version. Like in this one it clearly says "pink" in the top text, and the bottom black text isn't as long anymore.

The story is being told that the guy on the right is the one in the costume, but it's not the same guy at all.

And if you watch the video version you can see that the man in the costume has a blank, dead expression, and the syandana thing goes from being attached to the helmet to being attached to his head suddenly by magic.

I think the AI is just good enough that it's getting many things right. They do a pretty good job these days.

It seems like it's just a fake story to make a homophobic joke.

3

I was with you until homophobic. The essence of comedy is subverted expectations. Just because a gender reveal is subverted doesn't make it homophobic. How many times have you been to a drag show and found out that a performer is actually a woman cosplaying as a man pretending to be a woman?

Well, okay, maybe that's not a common thing. But after having lived in Hillcrest I've seen a lot of stuff. But then again I never checked birth certificates to see if the woman was a man who transitioned to a woman pretending to be a drag queen.

Google returns like 5 or 6 other images on Vietnamese Instagrams, with a few different people, a couple of them wearing the exact same shirt, and the logo changes between each picture in a very AI smudged way, or gets photoshop airbrushed off in one. One picture shows a completely other actor under the helmet having a smoke break outside, and his hand is Marty McFlying off the image.

It's AI, and at least this wave appears to be like a week old. There may have been an older image used as a basis.

3

When I did a reverse image search I only found the one guy. But I'd buy multiple versions as plausible.
