Trump's name is gone from the Kennedy Center's facade, according to a top official at the arts venue

A tarp continued to hang over the scaffolding constructed for workers to remove Trump’s name from the building, making it impossible to immediately detect whether the only words remaining on its white marble portico are “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.”

The "Let's just drag out our obvious defeat even longer until it doesn't feel so embarrassing" strategy worked so well with Iran

Somebody posted a live stream of the removal; what was put up with a cherry picker now required full-width scaffolding and a dozen workers and wasn't finished after 12h. I'm not sure who gave the order to do it that way and who got the contract, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were all staunch MAGAts.

It's possible that the installation just required drilling some holes for anchors or something, which is a pretty quick process that doesn't need much clean up.

Removing probably means holes need to be filled and the surface needs to be refinished. That takes quite a bit more time.

Don't get me wrong, I want the orange pedophile gone as much as anyone. There's just a reasonable explanation for why it's taking longer and they want to keep it from view.

It's still up. I retract my comment. They're just being asshats. My apologies for giving them the benefit of the doubt.

1

That assumes they wouldn't deliberately want it to look like shit and have obvious remnants of Trump's name afterwards.

My guess is there was one reason for the scaffolding: so they could hang the tarps to block the view of the letters being taken down. After all there were multiple live streams being broadcast, so they delayed it for 12 hours. They knew if we could get photos of it in progress, the pictures would be everywhere. Now the only photos will be just the wall after it was done.

🔔🔔🔔 Thanks, this hits my conspiracy-theorising tendencies perfectly.

Seriously though, media savvy is about the only thing this admin knows.

Apparently they were hassling some other judge to delay it for - reasons. Judge said fuck off. But that’s why the delay.

It's ok their "news" will never even mention it's been removed. No magas will know

The amount of money wasted on shit like this is aggravating.

Both parties should add something that makes it easy to bill him for this shit after the fact to their platforms.

Dems get easy points because it's anti-trump. Any actual remaining conservatives should be in favor of the reduction in government spending. Everyone wins except asshats abusing their power to slap their name on things at the taxpayers' expense.

Let's hope this is symbolic of the beginning of the end, but I really don't think it is. It's going to get much worse before it starts to get better.

Given the (entire?) board are his stooges, who wants to bet his name is still up there...

Probably have to do some grinding and chipping to get that shit off there. Also probably the embarrassment factor.

6

It's probably the second thing. They didn't use a tarp when putting up that shitstain's name on this building.

8

His ego couldn’t handle the cheering crowds as each letter came down.

I imagine the tarp will also stay up until no one is looking anymore.
