My "opinion" is Surah Al-Mai'da, ayat 87: "O you who believe, do not make forbidden the good things that God has made permissible to you, and do not aggress; God does not like the aggressors." 🫶✌️

How does that verse prove anything? It only works if you assume music is a good and permissible thing to begin with.

Did God forbid it? You do understand that everything from the inheritance rights of orphans to whether you can eat carrion or not has been explained? So you're making an argument that God did not make, and you will have to expand on it before you're found both silly and blasphemous.

The ottoman empire wasn't an official authority in the way the Medinan Islamic State and Rashidun State were, tho. This argument doesn't help us tbh.
