Usually, people outside the anglosphere don't think about how an American is going to read their name or if they're going to find it funny.

I assume it goes both ways - i.e. there are other countries who laugh at some American names due to how they sound in their local language. It's just human nature - whether it's just for the humor, or to ridicule & act condescending will depend upon the individuals involved.

Yes. Actually the founder of the SEO plugin by that name was a classmate of mine, and named it thusly because he was tired of explaining his name.

Maybe I'm getting old, but given the choice, at this point I'd choose neck and/or shoulders.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy with whatever, but given the choice, I'd say relief over release.
