Steam disk write error on Debian 12
When trying to install games on an ext4 external drive I get a disk write error from steam. Whenever I reset the permissions on the drive to both read and write, not just read, steam immediately reverts that whenever it's opened.

I'd check that there isn't actually an issue with the drive itself. If the whole device is being set to RO that might be due to filesystem issues as the default OS action is often to remount RO to avoid corruption
