I also hate the misused "it's just a bandaid!" cliché. Yeah, no shit: it's not a permanent fix, but it can keep a problem from getting worse until you can address the actual cause. Surgery means fuck all if the patient bleeds out on the table.
Doing first drafts has kept me going. I'm always surprised people like my first drafts. They don't know it's a first draft and they're happy that's I'm sharing anything at all. It feels good!
That's a fine looking ladder - could be better on the second draft, but it's imperfect and great!
