It takes years to build up trust in a community, making it so much more difficult to have a rapid response in areas that never see infrastrure investment unless there's something worth taking.

The people don't believe the diagnosis of their deceased relatives and want to prepare their dead. With ebola, the body practically dissolves as the virus erodes the connective tissues and multiplies, making infection of the living much more likely.

And acts like these are why people need to be forcefully quarantined to begin with.
