While I don't have anything against AV1 or 2, I still am bitter that AVIF wasone of the reasons why google butchered JPEGXL...
It'll be a good long while before we can properly enjoy it (hardware decoder support/optimized software decoding support), but it'll be great once it's reached maturity.
