Is there a way to make Lemmy links open in a new browser tab?

I'd love to be able to click on a link and have it open in a new tab rather than in the current tab, without having to specifically right-click and tell it to do so. This was the behavior I had set up back on reddit, though I don't recall if that was a built-in feature or part of RES, and it makes browsing a lot more convenient.

Oh hey! I was unaware of that shortcut, that's great and works nicely for me (in Edge as well as FF too). Thanks!

You can also control-click for a new tab and shift-click for a new window.

I would LOVE to see this feature - a checkbox in settings

"Always open links in new window"

I prefer not to lose my place on the front page by accident so this would be a wholly welcome opt in feature :)

I was actually trying to post this exact same post a bit ago but I couldn't for some reason!! Great minds think alike, I guess!!
