It looks like they've implemented a Storyteller type feature similar to Rimworld to help guide storylines. I'm def intrigued and hopeful!

You're probably thinking of Life by You, which was being developed by Paradox and was canceled in 2024.
I somehow missed all news about Life by You. Yikes at some of those screenshots of development. The art style was.....oof.
This genre desperately needs more competition and I'm happy Paralives has survived to see the light of day. I remember learning about it a long time ago and was very hopeful then. The dev team seems really responsive to what the fan base wants as well!

No, not at all! The early release got pushed back, but it's really going to happen this upcoming Monday.
Been in development for about 7 years now. It's a really dedicated, if small, team.
