Our ancestors really thought we would just be able to bend every planet to our whim and now we are all suffering because the temperature went up a few degrees on ours

Like, so many of them were so sure that we could just make anything work and expand wherever we wanted and now its all burning and we can't even touch anything to try and follow lead of brute force because their spoiled kids are still playing with their toys like it doesnt matter if we all suffer.

No changing the game, they have almost won by stopping all progress for wealth.

Not in my circles. If anything, there are just various people in all ages who are optimistic, including someone I know in his maybe late 30s/early 40s.

But yeah, it's frustrating to think how much progress we could actually make if there was less greed in the world. That is the one factor stopping this past belief from becoming reality.
