Highland Park is ridiculous; pay millions of dollars for a generic house just inches from your neighbors giant mansion.
I think people just like the prestige, because living there looks miserable for such an expensive neighborhood.
They were probably concerned that public transit would bring in “the poors”.
Oh, that's absolutely what is happening. They want the advantages that living in a big city provides, but in the most antisocial way possible.
They're actual leaches on society.
How are the maids getting to work?
Sounds like Highland Park are stupid and should have thier taxes raised to meet the 270 million short fall in taxes for the city.
Unfortunately, they are their own city.
Waaait you mean to tell me the same Highland Park that was the last place to integrate schools in the 1970s is now reneging on their commitment to public transit? No... it can't be... not the wannabe effete epstein elite, not the prissy preening city within a city, vatican of DFW. Say it ain't so. surprised pikachu face
Hard to argue with their decision from a financial POV.
economist brainrot. the rich neighborhood should contribute proportionally more to city-wide public goods.
