Found this lovely - what I'm assuming is mold - in my Meijer True Goodness vegan vanilla almond yogurt I just opened. Anyone know what kind of mold?

Looks like mold to me. May not have been stored at proper temperature for the whole distribution channel. Take it back to the grocery store and/or contact the manufacturer.
That worries me, since I eat this yogurt a lot 😭 I’ll see if I can find their contact info
Accidents will always happen, I wouldn't stress too much but I'd keep an eye on future tubs. Maybe see if the company has changed hands/directors and is using cheaper production.
Just opened another one with the same mold, so something’s up.
I did just notice the expiration date is only on the lid… which can easily be swapped, since there’s foil underneath. Not sure what went wrong here (they both have the same expiration date) but feels like a stupid place to put the date regardless.
Looks like a Penicillium species, a very common colonist of yogurt (and lots of other foods). It definitely shouldn't be eaten, get a refund for that furry yogi!

Probably not! I don't know enough to say for sure what the process from fuzz to medicine looks like 😅
Yes, but most Penicillium molds produce unusable amounts of penicillin. In fact, the primary reason why antibiotics started being used only decades after its discovery was because it was challenging to produce usable quantities of the stuff, and it was only much later when a species was discovered that produces enough penicillin that it could be manufactured
