What's your opinion on posting Altar pics?
When I first started my journey, people warned me that my "power" could be stolen if they got a photo of my altar. What are people's opinions on this? I think it sounds a bit unhinged from reality myself.

In my personal experience, that is true. To a degree. Your “power can be stolen” as in your delusion can be broken.
Here’s an example. Let’s say you believe/claim you have magic powers and can use psychokinesis (or something like that), and then you post a photo of an altar that is a photo of your high school crush and a clearly well-used meth pipe. People are going to make fun of you. Your delusion is broken. And in your perception you “lose” power. Power that you might’ve never actually had, but still.
But that is just speaking from my experience. Don’t let random people on the internet (such as your struly) get under your skin too much. Or tell you what to think, for that matter. That's what the government is for.

I wish there were more people here, unfortunately there seem to be a lot of basket cases as well. Lemmy as a whole seems to quite enjoy removed about anyone who holds the idea that something more might exist within this lovely world of ours. Maybe an introduction thread could be in order?
I think the overlap of people into esoteric stuff and people who are into or even aware of fediverse is tiny. I'm a fresh arrival myself because I can't stand ai and algorithm slop. It's two layers of niche but I'd love to see the place grow and meet like minded curious folk, so maybe introductions being encouraged would help that sense of community.
Maybe don't dox yourself.
