Successful dins w/ SILs fam last night thankfully. They're a great bunch. All differences put aside w/ bro and sil last night (but for how long).

Brought some chillies along just to pseudo flex. When in indo (where they're from) a few years ago for bro and sils's wedding they were saying indonesian chillies are hotter than australias. Hold my beer. Chillies don't care about borders. Had to ask the wait staff for some milk for them lol.

But the language barrier and how universal humour is, is fascinating.

Turns out sil's aunt is sort of a tycoon, owns a shitload of property over there and offered a free round trip crashing at her places which is something wild to consider (and I am heh).

Wildest thing though was that aunt's kid (20 something) is a DJ and showed me some vids of the parties they throw there (and not in a tourist town). The things I go to here are way more tame than that. I honestly thought indo party scene would be far more conservative.

Not the case.

The more I learn about that culture the more confused I am (in a good way).

jfc. We took Cerys up for a checkup and bloods for a tooth cleaning and she may have diabetes. Back tomorrow for a wee sample. Bastard life. Leave my fucking cats alone for thirty fucking seconds.

Sold a bike on marketplace. Had about 20 queries, I reckon 3 were legit. The best feeling getting to delete the posting and let all the unanswered lazy haggle messages disappear into the ether.

It's very strange looking at my daughter without her glasses on. It's like a part of her is missing. I guess it is. Anyway she's happy with her contacts.

Woo Hoo! My credit card application has finally been accepted.

I have a bunch of payments I have come out of the credit card each month and was starting to think I wouldn't have time to change them to the new card for next month. I've already temporarily changed some of them that come out early next month to my other card just in case, but it only has a tiny limit. The new approval has come just in the nic of time.

Moral of the story: it's generally a good idea to wait for your new card to be approved before cancelling the old one. But not sorry I didn't wait, Coles is definitely on my 'do not deal with' list and I am great at holding a grudge, even into 'cut off my nose to spite my face' territory.

Edit: dammit, I realised the card details in the app are not for the new credit card, the are the debit card attached to the transaction account. I've been able to set up the rent payment via BPay in the app, the rest I've had to temporarily change to direct debits pending the new card arriving in the mail. Oh well, not exactly the worst problem in the world to have.

Bandcamp Friday this Friday. It goes off US time so it doesn't count for us in the morning and I keep forgetting about it in the evening. Then I have things on Saturday morning so I can't get anything then.

I've put a reminder at 9pm this Friday so I should actually remember to buy something this time.

Back at work again. Had to pick up the laptop because can't work from home without it.

Had to rebuild the whole damn thing to fix the ALT+TAB issue. All good with me, there were no major issues whilst I was away so I just spent the morning setting everything up again

Picked up some home brand decaf at aldi. Looking at the label it reads Made in Belgium. ... ok. That's where Douwe Egbert is and they make moccona

Another lovely day and I had to go to work. 🙁

I'm pretty sure I heard the mousetrap go off in the pantry.

I tried one of my salmon burgers in the air fryer. It cooked alright but did ooze a lot of unsightly protein goo that looked like egg white. I scraped it off and Miss Meow thought it was top tier food and happily ate it all.

So tired

Tonight I am watching/listening to Hamlet with Laurence Olivier while I do some hand sewing. 🤴💀
