[DISCUSSION] Invincible - Season 4 - Overall thoughts
Hey! So now that the fourth season has concluded - what did you think, all in all? How would you rank season 4, compared to the previous ones? What are you hoping to see in season 5 (remember to add spoiler tags for future comics stuff)?
Excellent season. Every season has been my favorite and this continues the trend.
The Viltrumite War we've been building to since the beginning has excellent payoff. The ending, or at least current pause, is an cruel way to end it. Definitely not something I saw coming.
To address "Hurm", I really enjoyed that episode. In the greater context of the Viltrumite War it doesn't fit, but it fits well in the adventures Mark is getting up to before the war. It also, in hindsight, teased the destruction of Viltrum. They say that they're at the center of the Earth but trying to just fly home would kill Mark. So you can't just fly through a planet. But magic gun and three Viltrumites? Boom.
I'm bummed that Robot and Monster Girl are unresolved and stuck in the Flaxxan universe. But as a bonus Mark has been gone for 10 months I think? So if they come back the first episode of next season they'll have been gone for A LOOOOOONG TIME, and Robot will be fully Rex aged and Monster Girl, Monster Woman. And waiting a year until next season it's going to feel like they've been gone forever.
