Fedia update
Ok, there are three problems going on. First, the site has been intermittently super slow. This is happening because of some database locking conflicts and long running queries. I don't have this fully mitigated yet, but I know what I need to do and just need to get it scripted so it can recover automatically and gracefully.
My attempts to solve the prior problem broke federation by causing the messenger services to think they didn't have a connection to the database. This should be fixed now, and now that I know it happens, I can mitigate it in the future.
The other problem is with only being able to go back one to three pages (some times the first page is all you get). This is a known issue in the new version of mbin and the devs are going to revert the pagination scheme to the prior version until the bugs get worked out. In the mean time, if you click on "combined", you will be able to go back for miles (or kilometers).
Also, I am about to head out to my youngest son's wedding, so will not be able to babysit fedia until much later this evening easter time.

I put in a super ugly fix while I'm at the wedding. Hopefully that keeps it going till I can do a better job tomorrow.
Any idea on when the mbin devs are going to make that reversion?
I don't really like having to browse combined. Unless there's a way to block microblog posts that I'm not aware of.
I do very much appreciate the temporary workaround, of course.
I keep watching the code commits to see when it gets added. I'll ask them today though

When you have some time maybe you could check a 404 error in /m/fediverse
I had to delete that magazine because it was causing the instance to crash. The mbin issue that caused that should be fixed now, though.
Reddit's no longer usable by mobile browser. Fedia is no longer usable by mobile browser. Guess it's back to books, 😀 no complaints.
I almost exclusively access fedia with a mobile browser. what are you seeing?
Firefox but it's all good now. I had a scrolling problem.
