Singaporean crimes are always so 🥰 😇 ✨

Like chewing gum or leaking a movie script

🥰 😇 ✨Is a weird way to spell dystopian.

Singapore literally murders people for having weed. It’s a horrible oppressive place.

All because he wanted the credit and put it on his Twitter...

He could have just put it on some obscure corner and waited a couple days for it to spread.

The pandering is blatant and the story over all is unsatisfactory, but it was fine. Need to go and rewatch the series now.

I don’t think there was any perfect way to do it.

Tons of fans are a little too obsessed with ATLA, and only ATLA. I see little but rejection for anything but ATLA, even the fantastic novels or more-mixed NATLA. They’re already criticizing Seven Havens for being too weird.

…It wasn’t always like that. LoK and The Rise/Shadow of Kyoshi were (mostly) adored when they came out, but that seems to have changed over the years.

Anyway, I think they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they didn’t pander and did something “weird” like Seven Havens, there wouldn’t be as much commercial interest. If they cloned ATLA, it would be boring. So they tried to walked the line and chafed themselves, as many franchises do.

That's the issue of not moving on to new characters and/or new time periods. We've seen Aangs story, while he might do some interesting stuff as Avatar, he's faced his biggest hurdles already. Sure you can tell more stories, but they'll live in the shadow of the existing story.

Its the same issue with Star Wars, at some point the story needs to move on (or possibly stop all together).

Yeah, I was thinking of Star Wars!

I was utterly baffled by how much of the fandom hates Andor, when it's like the best Star Wars thing I've seen! And I suspect its going further in that direction, given everything I've heard from the new director (and how many KOTOR references they snuck into newer shows).

And yes, you put it better than I could. We've seen Aang's story. And the Avatar Cycle is basically the perfect rhetorical device to keep legacy alive while exploring something new.

I just find it tiring. It was jam packed with tropes. I liked the feeling of nuance and depth of the original series. People made realistic mistakes and lived through the consequences. I'll avoid spoiling what I mean since it's not out. Watching it made my head owwie.

Oh, so is this why the video looks like a low bitrate rip? It was just a preview sent to someone.

And yeah, this leaker is dumb, but I guess many are.
