Definitely number one best thing about Palworld vs Pokémon is being able to catch humans in pokeballs. It just makes sense! If your pokeball can catch the mythical dragon who created all of reality or whatever, it can definitely catch Jan from accounting. Plus, it really makes you stop and think about the ethics of catching pals and making them work in your factory.
I mean, there's more tiers of technology, but the making pals slave away in you ore mines and on your factory lines has been a thing since the beginning.
Its not automated like factories, though, you have to input manual tasks and have all inputs available before starting.

Buuuut, if you set up a private server, the pals continue to work even when you aren't playing the game, 24/7.
I hadn't played in 3 months and my factory farm was completely filled to the max with resources.
There's probably a romhack that let's you do this
