Adding to that, both because there's still a strong anti-Reddit culture around, and because the logo is a glorious "full hd 1080p" meme example.

If a mascot is to be used as the logo, Lemmy's follow a similar design as Reddit's, so that could be used instead.

The focus here is discussion, not link-sharing. It's modelled on r/letstalkmusic I suspect.

Imo at least, ![email protected] is too generalist, so if an user wants to browse a specific niche, that wouldn't be a good one as any such posts would have a tendency to be diluted in the feed.

Also, generalist communities are a hit or a miss for engagement from my experience, so a community whose purpose is explicitly for engagement should have a better chance to thrive.
