I realized 'Xbox One S' is one of the cheapest 4K player

Maybe not the best in quality but it works, if you are on a budget there are many in the second hand market, they are usually in good condition. You have to log with a Microsoft account to install the bluray app.

No Dolby vision though. I have one and use an all region Sony Blu-ray player instead.

Yup, but if you like gaming, you get more bang for your buck with the Xbox One X.

Plays Xbox One games with added enhancements that are not possible on EITHER the One S OR the Xbox Series S.

At that price point (around 100) I'll probably go for a PS4pro for better system and games, don't know about bd-player's quality differences.

As a game enthusiast I'm not a fan of both these "pro" models, I tend to play 720/1080p games on a 1080p monitor. I'm waiting to buy a PS5 for my 4k setup but this XOneS saved me for now.

PS4Pro is Blu Ray only, the Xbox One S and X are both 4K UHD.

PS4 pro should be capable (Wikipedia): 4K 2160p, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, and 480p HDR10 HDMI out 2.0a (Edit) Oh never mind, looks like it can output 4k but it can't read 4k discs, well that's dumb

I can attest to that, it's my first and only 4K player.

I used to visit the 4K sub-reddit but soon left because people would shit on the PS5 for having no Dolby Vision support.

Personally, it doesn't bother me because my TV doesn't support DV either. I watch 4Ks on a budget! 😁

My all region blu-ray player is like half the price and no account needed
