I love this tune and concept! Great music that's catchy but has spaces to breathe in. Thank you for sharing.

What is your process and workflow like? Do you sit down and improvise while watching videos, until you find what feels like a characterful connection? Or pick a video first and compose to it specifically..?

Ah it's all over the place. This song started with the drums. I just felt like going kinda wild drum samples completely independently of my microbe footage.

I finished writing this one then sat down to film microbes to put to the music. I usually do it the other way around but I did find this direction kinda nice. I could set up the colors that I use to support the sections of the song.

I do basically improvise on a keyboard and iterate on that to write all the music.

My other video Copepod Dies was the opposite where I had footage that I really wanted to write music to. So it really just depends on which side (music or footage) has a more compelling story for me base the other on.
