Never understood how people can be so dumb to gamble with something that has insider trading written all over it.

It’s like trying to win money in boxing when your not a boxer yet your going against professionals

Its not dumb if you know which way its going to go. Free money. People actually do this with the stock market too. They watch for huge volumes being bought or sold by the big investment firms and do the same to try and get some of the profits.

I'll put $2 on no

Problem is that is what the insider traders are counting on. They know it is going to happen, it's planned to happen and the odds reflect that. So a few million folks toss in a couple of bucks and the insiders cash in.

Outsiders can't be 100% sure that it's a planned event so they don't take the terrible odds and the insiders don't have to split things.

If it has anything to do with this administration and the options are to crime or not to crime, it is always to crime.

Do insider trading laws cover bets or is it only stocks?

They will be pardoned for federal crimes. It doesn’t matter. State laws are the only option if you want to hold any of them accountable.
